Finally figuring out what is in store!
So it is the Monday after Christmas, Dec 27, 2010, and I am almost on my way. I have the first 4 days of the trip planned (as far as directions and stopping points go) and I am very weary of it. I know it will happen and I know what to expect, however for the long run I have no idea.
The Christmas season has treated me well. I now have a netbook, a camera and a sleeping bag. This is all thanks to my parents and family. Without them I could barely make the trip to Texas:) Just saying that I have a little more money to get a little further because they helped me along the way. I cannot and will not let that go unappreciated.
This is the first 'real' blog so it may be a little scattered. I am sitting at the bar I work at, as a dishwasher, listening to the jukebox and having a cocktail. I also have a lovely woman sitting next to me. She knows who she is...anyway, this may be the most fun one because of the booze!

Ok, so...I have slept and worked in between the day I started this post and today(Dec 29). I will finish this post if it kills me. I am in the same place I started in, the Pike Bar, so it should still not disappoint!
I will be leaving February 1, 2011 on this world tour. This is just about a month away. Honestly, I am nervous and excited and nervous again! I have planned out the first 7 days of the trip, which puts me in Yuma, AZ. I have a buddy going that far with me, so I will start off as a duo. The plan is to head east to the Salton Sea, south to Brawley, then east again to Yuma.
At that point my highschool friends from Ontario will meet up with us and we will enjoy a night together. It will be nice to have familiar faces and some emenities (we plan on crashing with them at a hotel). At that point my buddy will hitch a ride back home with my highschool friends and I will continue solo.
I just want to get this post up to let everyone know what is going on and what the plan is. Keep checking back in because I will try to post daily, or at least when internet connections are available, so that you can enjoy my trip as much as I am!
